An Underwater Adventure through Winnipeg

By Carmen Kaethler, Macaroni Kid Winnipeg May 18, 2020

I'm always on the hunt for a great way to bring some unique family fun to our kids. Recently I thought it would be really fun take pictures in front of the beautiful murals around Winnipeg but would make it even better is if I added a theme. So I mapped out a route of the underwater murals, using the website themuralsofwinnipeg.com which has 600+ murals that I went through, and suggested to the girls that they put on their swim suits and goggles. We then went out for an afternoon of fun. This adventure took us about 3 hours to complete as we also stopped for ice cream but definitely plan for a few hours as there are a lot of in and out of the vehicles and posing in between traffic.

If you want to try this too you can make it fun by also dressing in swim suits or a costume like a mermaid, pirate, shark or something else that's ocean related. Get creative and when you do make sure you tag @mackidwinnipeg on Instagram so we can share it. We'd love to see what you do! There are a lot of other murals out there for alternative themes, like the forest, arctic, places all around the world, etc. Lets have lots of fun!!

Here is our video of the 7 murals on our tour:
