Get Crafty: DIY Confetti Poppers

By Renae Gonzalez, Macaroni Kid Brentwood December 27, 2019

Every since the girls were really young we'd always make Confetti Poppers every New Years Eve to use that night. It's the one time a year confetti is allowed in our house. Seriously... I know what you're thinking. You don't do confetti. But trust me. The kids will love these and if they are anything like my girls they will have so much fun with them you'll even be able to trick them into cleaning up the confetti by themselves when they are done (or just take vacuum when they are all done and suck the confetti into the dust abyss never to be seen...until next New Years Eve).

Ring in the New Year in style with these easy (and super fun) DIY Confetti Poppers:

Here's what you need:

  • A cardboard tube (Toilet paper tube or a paper towel or wrapping paper tube cut to size)
  • Strong tape (we used duct tape)
  • Decorative washi tape and stickers
  • A balloon
  • Confetti
  • Scissors

Putting your Confetti Popper together:

  1. Tie your balloon as if you had just blown in up. Now cut it in half.
  2. Stretched the tied half over one end of the cardboard tube. Duck tape in place.
  3. Decorate with washi tape, stickers or whatever you'd like
  4. Fill with confetti!
  5. Pop, fill and pop again!
