What inspired/encouraged you to start your business?
Since having kids I have become very passionate about trying to use more natural products in my home. The mission of Norwex is "improving quality of life by radically reducing chemicals in our homes". I have embraced their mission and now am passionate about teaching people how making small changes can do so much for the health and well being of their families. For anyone not familiar with Norwex, one Enviro Cloth and some water will clean almost 90% of your house. That's right, no chemicals! And no unnecessary waste (like paper towels, lysol wipes etc). The Norwex line carries items for all areas of your home including bathrooms, floors, kitchens, laundry, beauty products etc.
What do you love about your work?
I love seeing how excited people get about their Norwex products. Let's face it, we all hate to clean and would hire a weekly (maybe daily!) cleaner if we could afford it. Norwex really does making cleaning easy and fun again! I love getting before and after stories from customers because I can feel the excitement in their messages.
I am also a big believer in trying to reduce the amount of waste we create. I've made so many changes in my home and love showing people how easy some of these changes can be. You can also save a LOT of money when you use reusable versus disposable products. Did you know Canadians produce more garbage per capita than any other country on earth? If you could swap out your lysol wipes and paper towels for a cloth, how much waste could you eliminate in a day, a month, a year? We all need to do our part or one day in the near future we will have so much garbage there will be no where to put it and that's scary!
I also love that this 'job' is flexible. I can work around my busy schedule and still make a great income!
What advice do you have for others wanting to start a business?
Find something you are passionate about and your passion will motivate you to make goals and achieve them. I always say Direct Sales companies are such a great way to start a business without a financial commitment. If it's not the right fit for you, you can just walk away with no questions asked. What do you do to take care of yourself and how do you make time to do it?
As a busy mom with 4 kids it can sometimes be hard to find time to take care of myself. I'm a very social person and love getting together with my mama friends! Spending time with my friends is how I take care of myself. We vent, laugh, drink, eat and offer advice...it's the best.
